Intellectual Property - Patents, Copyrights, and Other Protectionist Barriers (lecture)

This session cover the role of patents and copyrights - how the government imposes monopolies to provide incentives - by pointing out the cost of patent monopolies in prescription drugs, examining alternatives to patent financing for prescription drug research, and exploring alternatives to copyrights for supporting music, movies, and software.
